Finally getting around to posting these pics from a fantastic trip to Buenos Aires last year. An amazing city with fantastic people and a vibrant culture. La Recoleta was a highlight!

"What if you wear just a nice shirt with your red bow-tie. Or, or wear your black shirt with the red bow-tie and just some really cute boots? Or is that too...?"
My friend Jason is down from Portland this weekend so we headed over to LACMA to check out the new Kubrick retrospective. Highly recommend! Seeing the show was a humbling reminder of exactly how many "films of a lifetime" this man made. Path's of Glory, Spartacus, 2001: Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Eye's wide shut....seriously? Some amazing trinkets from each of those films were on display. It was surprising how powerful it was to see them in the flesh...so to speak. Make the time to check it out, you won't be sorry!
Kubrick's directing chair. Can't help but get chills from this thing!
Creepy twin girls' dresses from the Shining
Model of the Overlook Hotel maze
Jack's infamous typewriter
All work and no play...
The original HAL! Never been so star struck..for real!
Weird fetus maquette from 2001. Disturbing that the fetus was the size of a 3 year old!
Awesome, functioning centrifuge model from 2001
Awesome astronaut watch from 2001
Amazing futuristic silverware from 2001
Sketch of the Dr Strangelove war room by the one and only Ken Adam. Fighter jet pilot, legendary production designer, and just general bad-ass skanky bastard.
and of course, A Clockwork Orange!
Joker's helmet from Full Metal Jacket
Last but not least, a sampling of the spooky masquerade masks from Eyes Wide Shut.

Em and I hopped out to Woodley Park today to take my new Voigtländer 40mm pancake out for a spin and peep some vintage German beauties! Special treat to catch a pair of immaculate Isetta 300s in the mix. Hard to beleive it was a production car!
Actually it's just dumb luck that we caught these stunning vintage beasts in Siena on the day we happened to visit. Gorgeous early century European race cars ripping around a stunning Medieval Italian city! Can't ask for much more than that. The event is called the Gran Premio Nuvolari. Lot's of great videos on the interwebs if you want more. Get to googlin'!
I'm just back from my cousin Ninaz's wedding outside of Cologne, Germany. It was a beautiful affair and it was great to catch up with the German family. Coincidentally we were only 11 Km from Peter Zumthor's Brother Klaus Chapel. Em and I headed out with my cousins Alireza and Aschkan to check it out. The texture you see inside the chapel walls are the negative volumes of 112 burned away trees. You can read more about it here
